We are doing 2 100 mile rides this year.
All participants should have taken part in one of our club rides previously , should have an appropriate bike and should be able to ride at an average 13mph for long periods. We aim to be as inclusive as possible and we believe any reasonably fit cyclist can do this ride at our pace. However , the responsibility of organising and leading a ride like this is substantial and if anyone is struggling to keep up they will be asked to use rail services to get home.
John Leonard will repeat his charity ride from last year on the 9th July. The route is here Lanarkshire 100
The Club 100 mile ride is on 3rd September and will repeat the route over the Clackmannan and Forth Bridges.
The Club route will go out on country roads around Cumbernauld to Larbert , over the Clackmannan bridge and on to the cycle track to Dunfermline for lunch. We will return via the Forth Road Bridge and on to Hopetoun House and Linlithgow. The last part will be on country roads towards Coatbridge and the old A8.
The ethos of this ride is that you can do a 100 mile ride for enjoyment alone and not incur cost nor worry about a finishing time.
[ Within reason! We will try not to finish in the gloom this year! ]
